CAPITAL CITY

lyrics

Have I taken this town for Granted, It’s been pretty good to me
Been my home now for the last five years,
but it can’t soothe my itching feet
It’s almost time for me to move on, I’ve come to recognize the pull
And although I don’t know just where I’ll go,
I’ve got a few ideas up my sleeve

Let’s lay the maps out on the floor and fill the gas tank to its threads
Lets just forget that we’re still poor, and focus on the road ahead

Arizona’s got the desert, sunny skies and no more humidity
Portland lays beneath a mountain, we could roam the city streets
The west coast red woods stand like beacons,
yeah they’re calling out to me
They whisper please come home, to your cabin by the sea

Let’s lay the maps out on the floor and fill the gas tank to its threads
Lets just forget that we’re still poor, and focus on the road ahead

Have I taken this town for granted, it’s been pretty good to me
Been my home now for the last five years,
it’s time to get back on my feet

I want to wander around the Ozarks,
hitchhike all around Newfoundland
Set up camp somewhere in western P.A.
spend my winters in Carolina’s sand

Let’s lay the maps out on the floor and fill the gas tank to its threads
Lets just forget that we’re still poor, and focus on the road ahead
